The world is going through the golden age of technology. All we want to do is pace up with its speed. A quick and effective way to do that is by using an iPad while you’re on the move. This can be improved with the addition of the Apple Pencil.

So, without wasting any time of yours, I have brought you 15 very highly specific tips and tricks to use your Apple Pencil. Not going to bore you with humongous words or paragraphs, trust me! Let’s go.

1) Double Tap to Change Tools

We all would love a place where everything happens in just a click or at most with a double click. WELL, that may not be a reality anytime soon, but definitely, I know a trick that can help you change your Apple Pencil tools by just double-tapping it. 

It is for the 2nd generation Apple Pencil. Double-tap precisely near the tip of your Apple Pencil to quickly switch to the tool used last. If you have not changed your settings, go to Settings > Apple Pencil, then choose switch between the current tool and eraser. Switch between the current tool and the last used.

2) Get Pixel Perfect Precision

In science, perfection is ideal; ideal things may not easily be achieved in the real world. But I have got you a trick that can help you create ideal designs with pixel-perfect precision. Now, if you are someone from a design background, you would be familiar with the term. 

With the help of Apple Pencil, you can take every element into consideration, down to individual pixels. Each pixel is given careful attention to give your favorite design a clean and sharper look so that everything appears perfect! Maybe science will never have ideal things, but you can definitely have a perfect clean-cut design with the help of pixel-perfect precision.

3) Customize Tilt and Pressure Sensitivity

When you are in a creative mode, you need to work effectively, and to do that constantly, you need to be a smart worker rather than a hard worker. 

For all those smart workers in the artistic area, I have brought you a very useful trick where you can increase the width, opacity, spacing, angle, or even jitter the paint stroke, only putting on the pressure on your stylus pen. While using the Apple Pencil to create a paint stroke with the help of a pain stroke tool. Just hold it down, push it or tilt it to adjust your tilt and pressure for maximum effectiveness.

4) Free Engraving

We all like something for free, and we all know that Apple started to print your favorite emojis, texts, or numbers on its products, but it costs a lot. So, with an apple pencil, you can have a free engraving of anything you like.

Just order the Pencil from the Apple Store and click on the “Free Engraving” checkbox to customize your Apple Pencil for free.

Not a practical tip, but a cool option to know about, especially if you’re looking for a gift for an Apple fan.

5) Quickly Deleting and Adding Text

Being a writer myself, I come across a lot of editing work that becomes quite a burden for me, so to decrease that burden for all the writers out there, this apple pencil tip will make your work handy. 

All you need to do is follow the instructions given to delete a text – scratch it out with your Pencil. To insert a text between words, you need to tap and hold till the space opens for you to jot it down! Here’s an extra one, to join or separate a text, draw a straight vertical line between them.

6) Convert Handwritten Notes to Text

This tip is for the students and also for those who have a lot of written assignments to complete when the deadline is on heads, and then, all we wish for is “if there would be a way in which we can write in our own handwriting and then after that it gets converted into text on its own.” 

Apparently, there is. The apple pencil will fulfill all such wishes. Just circle the handwritten material; in the menu above, select copy, then paste the text elsewhere or in the same document, basically, anywhere you like.

It depends on which app you use for notes.

7) Insert a Drawing into the E-mail

Visuals are a better way of understanding than reading. To make your client understand easily, now you can insert a drawing into an e-mail using Apple Pencil. Draw something in your iPad’s note pad then open the e-mail tap to bring up the options menu. 

Tap the arrow at the right of the options menu twice; select” insert drawing” that’s it, and you have a drawing in your e-mail. Technology is taking up the world!

8) Markup Screenshots and Documents

Screenshots are such a clever invention, and with Apple Pencil, it becomes a source of entertainment. Just swipe up your Pencil from either corner at the bottom of your iPad. 

There you have your screenshot. To mark that screenshot, draw with an apple pencil. To save that screenshot in a document tap, and choose an option. When you are finished, tap Done, then choose an option.

9) Sign Documents

One of the most exciting tips lies here; did you know you can sign a document with your apple pencil? To optimize this trick, stick to this; In the markup toolbar, tap plus, choose signature. 

To add a new signature: tap adds, then use an Apple Pencil to type your name. to add an existing signature: tap the one you want. Lastly, drag your signature where you want it.

10) Quickly Check Apple Pencil’s Battery Life

The battery of your favorite electronics should be 100% for the best experience possible. To maintain it in your 2nd generation Apple Pencil attach it to your iPad, and you will see the charge status on your screen. 

To check how much charging is left on your apple pencil, check the today view on your I pad, swing your finger left to right on the home screen or lock screen.

11) Use Your Pencil as a Ruler

The most challenging thing to do on an iPad is creating a straight line. Indeed, you can use a lot of different applications which will help you modify your lines, but, in the end, it becomes an exhausting task. 

So why not use your personalized ruler? Click on the Markup toolbar, and at the bottom, you will see a ruler. Yes, you have read it correctly! A ruler in your iPad. Then draw the line of whichever centimeters you want, align it, rotate it, or use it according to your comfort.

12) 3 Finger Swipe to Undo/Redo

Who here fumbles while handling a lot of work? All those who are clumsy tend to write or click something to disrupt the work and then put a lot of time to undo that needs this tip. This tip is a savior for me, and it will be for you. 

Suppose you are writing an article on your iPad with your Apple Pencil, and unintentionally, you write something else just use your three fingers to swipe and undo it. Seriously, by knowing this trick, my work has become so much easier to do.  

13) Extract Color in Procreate

Another artistic tip in Apple Pencil is extracting colors from any image you see randomly on google. Just drag the photo to Procreate’s palette in split-screen mode, and the colors will all be extracted into the palette. 

This will save you a ton of time from using the eyedropper tool. You can thank me later!

14) Instant Notes

As a writer, I have to take a ton of notes because you will get an idea to write it down at any point in time. 

So, my iPad, with the help of an Apple Pencil, allows me to take handwritten notes anywhere and even sketch things out, when necessary, with ease. Oh, and did I mention it works on the lock screen too.

Start writing on your screen and it will automatically open notes.

15) Paste Files Between Devices

The last tip for this article will end with the most vital thing. You can paste the documents between two different devices, which requires only one condition, which is the same Apple ID. 

All you need to do is drag the document from your iPad with the help of the Apple Pencil and put it to your iPhone or vice-versa.
