The biggest difference between Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra and S9 Plus is the display size. Some think the bigger the screen, the better. Some might say that the S9 Ultra screen is just too big, and for those, the 12.4-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X might be the perfect one. It’s bright, with beautiful vibrant colors, and 266 pixels per inch. Packed with Dolby stereo quad speakers tuned by AKG. Watching Netflix on it is a real treat.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 Plus boasts a smooth 120Hz display, providing a seamless visual experience. What sets it apart is the inclusion of the Samsung S Pen, a valuable addition that comes with the tablet at no extra cost. This feature makes it an excellent choice, particularly for those who prioritize note-taking and drawing functionalities.

While the tablet lacks a headphone jack, it compensates with a micro SD card slot for additional storage needs. Notably, it is equipped with IP68 water and dust resistance, adding a layer of durability to its features.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 Plus caters to users who appreciate a balance between screen size and portability. You can get it also with a Keyboard and use it as a laptop with the Samsung DeX mode. Allowing you to switch from a tablet to a laptop. It offers the most value for the price.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S9

Samsung Galaxy Tab S9

  • OS: Android
  • Storage: 128GB, 256GB
  • RAM: 8GB, 12GB
  • Camera: Front: 12MP f/2.4, Rare: 13MP f/2.0

  • Display size: 11 inches
  • Resolution: 1600×2560 (~274 ppi density)
  • Port: USB Type-C
  • Battery: Up to 10 hours

The biggest difference between Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra and S9 Plus and S9 are the display sizes. The Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 also performed a bit worse in the battery life test. But all of these tablets have Dynamic AMOLED 2X displays with 120hz refresh rate, and on the smaller 11-inch screen, the picture looks even higher in definition.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 also has Dolby stereo speakers that are tuned by AKG.

In the box, you will find a Samsung S pen that’s included in the price. That allows you to navigate the tablet easier as well as take notes and draw on the screen. This is the feature that really separates tablets from smartphones and laptops.

You can only get the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 with 256GB storage capacity, if you want more you will need to get a microSD card. Conveniently, these tablets do have a microSD card slot.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 is a compact device and the cheapest from Samsung S 2023 series. They compromised on the screen size, storage capacity, and battery. Nevertheless, with all the compromises the tablet is a great all-rounder. For entertainment, for productivity, and for the whole family.

Pros
  • High-Quality Display
  • High-Quality Speakers
Cons
  • No Headphone Jack
  • The Battery Life Could Be Better

Samsung recently introduced the world to its FE(Fan Edition) tablets. The Fan Edition devices are designed to offer flagship features at a more accessible price point. In other words, the FE tablets are cheaper and more budget-friendly.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 FE Plus comes with a 12.4-inch screen, but it has an LCD display instead of the OLED, and the refresh rate is 90Hz instead of 120Hz.

The FE tablets, just like other Samsung tablets, run the Android operating system and in the package, you can find an S pen.

The biggest compromises are made on the display, SoC, and camera. This one also doesn’t feature a headphone jack, but just like the flagship tablets it has water and dust resistance (IP68).

Samsung cut the right corners to create a more affordable Samsun tablet. It still feels like a premium device that has a good display and can handle the demanding apps, making everyone happy with the overall experience. I would say Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 FE Plus is a great tablet for those that want a premium tablet but don’t want to pay the premium price.

Pros
  • Good SoC & Processor Considering Price
  • Good Battery Life & Charging Time
Cons
  • No Headphone Jack
  • Still Expensive with Accessories(Keyboard Cover)
  • Limited DeX Mode (won’t work with Monitors and TV’s)
5
Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 FE

Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 FE

  • OS: Android
  • Storage: 128GB, 256GB
  • RAM: 6GB, 8GB
  • Camera: Front: 12MP (Ultrawide), Rare: 8MP (Wide)
  • Display technology: IPS LCD
  • Display size: 10.9 inches
  • Resolution: 1440×2304 (~249 ppi density)
  • Port: USB Type-C
  • Battery: Up to 18 hours

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 FE 10.9-inch LCD display, with up to a 90 Hz refresh rate, offers good colors and quality but put it next to a premium flagship Samsung tablet like Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 Plus, and you will see the differences.

The tablet operates on Android 13, offering a user-friendly interface that’s easy to personalize and use for multitasking. Connect it with a keyboard and you have a 2-in-1 tablet/laptop.

Overall, the tablet is great for general tasks, like note-taking, videos, movies, games, etc. But when you try more demanding tasks like video editing, the tablet’s processing powers push back. Since it’s a mid-range tablet, it makes sense that it can’t handle the same pressure as premium tablets. Samsung uses LCD tech and this tablet can last up to 18 hours due to that.

Pros
  • Good Price
  • Good Display & Speakers
  • Great Battery Life
Cons
  • Processing Limitations
  • No Headphone Jack
  • Limited DeX Mode (won’t work with Monitors and TV’s)

  • Display size: 10.4 inches
  • Resolution: 1200×2000  (~224 ppi density)
  • Port: USB Type-C
  • Battery: Up to 8 hours

The 2022 refresh of the Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite is a great budget tablet by Samsung with it’s 10.4 inch LCD display, 60Hz refresh rate and S pen support, that’s included in the price.

The tablet can run Android 13 and is considered a budget tablet, but unlike other budget tablets, this one can actually be used beyond casual tasks. You can also take notes on it, do some sketching, draw, play games, and watch movies. It will become sluggish if you try to run high-demanding apps on it.

Due to its price, performance, and included S pen, it makes a great choice for families, and young students. The tablet also has DeX mode, but it doesn’t have the hardware to be able to replace your laptop. It’s also a great tablet for kids to run educational apps and play light games plus the S pen could encourage creativity in younger minds. It’s one of the best Samsung entry-level tablets.

Pros
  • Good Performance Considering Price
  • S Pen and DeX mode included
  • Headphone Jack
Cons
  • S Pen is limited to basic stylus features
  • Screen Could Be Brighter
  • Weak Battery Life

That’s unusual for Samsung to create such a big display budget tablet, but here it is, and just like all A series Samsung tablets, it doesn’t have S pen support, and of course, it’s not included in the package as well. That puts certain limitations to the tablet.

The tablet runs Android 13 and will be eligible for the next software updates. It’s meant for the basic things – light games, video calls, emails, reading, movies, videos, web browsing, online shopping, and cooking recipes. It’s not meant for productivity tasks or multitasking. The tablet is meant for users who have modest computer needs.
