A budget-friendly family tablet, the Lenovo Tab M7 3rd Gen is a decent option if you are buying a tablet for your kids or as a first-trial tablet. The tablet is priced at $89, which is a very moderate pricing.
The Lenovo Tab M7 3rd Gen is definitely built for kids. You get the Google Play Store from which you can download free books or choose from a million games.
The Lenovo Tab M7 3rd Gen is super light and easy to carry around. The 7-inch screen and all-metal body give it a very compact and sleek look. For a basic tablet, the battery life is decent, and if the daily use of the tablet is limited to kids or basic activities, then the battery may as well last the whole day.
Lenovo Tab M7 Speed
Hear me out: it’s a decent tablet, but it’s just too slow, even for kids. If I compare it to my iPad, I open it up, I open YouTube and I play a video, it will take me 15 seconds. If I do the same thing on Lenovo Tab M7 it will take me 30-40 seconds. I’m not a big fan of how slow the tablet is.
If you primarily intend to use it for activities like web browsing, reading, light productivity tasks, or entertainment, it should perform reasonably well. If you intend to use it for heavy applications – forget about it.
It’s slow, but you can manage it, if you have patience.
For a basic tablet, the Lenovo Tab M7 3rd Gen does pack some punch. What is entirely undeniable is the fact that Lenovo has definitely improved the M7 3rd Gen from its predecessor, and the enhancement from storage to the operating system is clear to see. But, in my opinion, it falls a bit short. The only truly great thing about this tablet is the price.

Who is this device for?
- For Kids
The Lenovo Tab M7 3rd Gen is a tablet for kids. The Android Go edition has billions of Google Play Store apps to let your kids pick their favorite ones. They can watch videos on YouTube Kids on the Google Kids Space. The battery life quality may not be of premium quality but it should be enough to last a day for the kids.
- For Reading
The Lenovo Tab M7 3rd Gen is a good e-reader due to its size and weight. You can download hundreds and thousands of books from the Play Store or even download the Kindle. The compact tab would not hinder moving around with it too, so you can take the tab and read anywhere you like. Mobility is one of the biggest strengths of the tab, and as a reader, you have to appreciate how much you can take the tab anywhere of your liking and read it.
Features of the Lenovo Tab M7 3rd Gen
The Lenovo Tab M7 3rd Gen boasts a 7-inch display with a 76.5% screen-to-body ratio and a resolution of 600 x 1024 pixels, creating a compact and comfortable feel. While it’s not the largest display around, it’s perfect for kids and reading. However, it’s worth noting that this display is designed for everyday tasks like video playback and reading, rather than demanding activities.
Lenovo provides a single storage option for the Tab M7 3rd Gen with 32GB of storage and 2GB of RAM. While it may not sound like a lot, it’s quite adequate for a compact 7-inch tablet, especially considering it’s primarily intended for basic tasks. Additionally, there’s a dedicated microSDHC slot on the tablet for expanding storage as needed
The performance aspect of the Lenovo Tab M7 3rd Gen is a mixed bag. It runs on Android 11 (Go edition) and is powered by either a Mediatek MT8166 (Wi-Fi version) or Mediatek MT8776 (LTE version) chipset, with an octa-core 2.0 GHz CPU under the hood.
While the tablet allows access to the latest apps through Android 11 (Go edition), it does struggle with occasional lags when switching between apps due to its average CPU. For those who enjoy gaming like Clash of Clans or Call of Duty, it might not be the best choice, as it may struggle to run such demanding applications. This tablet is better suited for basic app usage, leaving resource-intensive tasks to more powerful devices like smartphones or premium tablets. You will see some lags even with the basic apps.
The Lenovo Tab M7 3rd Gen has a sleek and compact design. It features a glass front and a robust aluminum frame and back, giving it a premium appearance. In fact, at first glance, you might mistake it for a Kindle, as it shares a similar design ethos.
Despite its stylish build, the tablet remains exceptionally lightweight at just 0.52 lbs (237 g), making it highly portable. When it comes to color options, the Lenovo Tab M7 3rd Gen is available in Iron Grey.

Is Lenovo Tab M7(3rd gen) Too Slow?
Lenovo Tab M7 3rd Gen offers solid value. While it’s not geared for heavy-duty or premium use, it excels as a kid-friendly tablet or a travel companion. If you are planning to use high-demanding apps – you just going to be disappointed. If you plan to use medium-demanding and even low-demanding apps it still won’t give you the speed your smartphone or premium tablet can, that’s why it’s priced below $100.
