Samsung has also added 15w fast charging. Fast charging is an important feature considering people more often than not always look for devices that charge faster nowadays.

The other great aspect of the battery is that it is completely removable. Main Drawbacks of Samsung Galaxy Tab Active 3

There aren’t many drawbacks in the Samsung Galaxy Tab Active 3 but there are a couple that needs shedding of light. Samsung has really built a small rugged tablet that might just be specifically made for traveling and adventurous purposes. Let’s shed some light on a couple of issues.

Display Glass

The body beside the display is absolutely rugged and tough, there is no doubt about that. The main issue that users have found is with the glass. The glass is fickle in comparison with other tablets.

For being classified as an adventurous tablet, the glass doesn’t hold up. It sometimes requires just one fall for the glass to break and there will be times when you accidentally drop your tablet. The glass should have been a Gorilla glass instead you get a standard glass that doesn’t hold up in normal conditions let alone in tough ones.

If you have kids then you definitely are guaranteed a grueling tough session for the tablet. On top of that, you aren’t buying a tablet for safe use only. There will be times when you will have to use the tab in extreme conditions and in those conditions the glass will not weather the storm.

It is a major drawback considering the screen is the most important feature of a tablet but again it is up to how one uses it and the nature of use that will determine the wear and tear of the glass.

Limited Battery

Just this one other drawback. The Samsung Galaxy Tab Active 3 is not the biggest tablet in the world but it still is a decent-sized one. It wouldn’t be fair to not mention the removable battery as being one of its advantages but not everyone carries an extra battery in their pocket the whole time.

The Li-Ion 5050 removable battery is fine if you are not using the tablet frequently but if you are a frequent user then you might see your battery drain out pretty quickly. If you are taking your tablets on your travel then these issues will only multiply.

You cannot and should not expect Tab Active 3’s battery to last for more than a day at max.

The fast charging helps but there should have been a better effort from Samsung to include a higher mAh battery in the device. But everything isn’t perfect and this device is almost perfect but for a couple of drawbacks.

Final Thoughts: Does It Live to Its Expectations?

At the end of the day, Samsung Galaxy Tab Active 3 is a cracking little device

The tablet has been made especially for people who love to travel and adventure. Its rugged body and sleek design are built to last decades.

You can compare the hardware of this tablet with those classic Nokia cell phones which were known for their ruggedness.

Samsung has equipped the Tab Active 3 with everything you need in a pocket-sized tablet. Generally, it functions really well in every climate and condition. If you want a tablet to last forever then this is the one for you, just watch out for its fickle glass as it is the only glaring drawback in an otherwise almost perfect device.

From pricing to specifications, Samsung has a winner in its hands with this pocket-sized dynamo.
